Our free testing programs address specific conditions, informed by collaborative efforts with patient advocacy groups, researchers, and pharmaceutical developers. For each of the conditions, we have a very limited number of tests available at a time. As we grow, we can expand both the number of conditions we target and the tests we offer, but this still leaves many patients (or families) without timely access to test options that may be appropriate now.
If we pair you directly with an experienced genetic counselor, you may have the opportunity to use insurance for testing, even if that has not worked in the past.
How it works:
- Create a profile with Probably Genetic and complete a patient symptom & health assessment
- Assessments are typically reviewed in a week or less for eligibility for our free testing programs as well as our insurance-billed testing pathway
- If you are approved for either type of program, you will be notified in your profile as well by email
Patients suspected of genetic conditions (based on their Probably Genetic profile) will be given the option to pursue insurance-billed testing while they wait on free testing opportunities from Probably Genetic. This process starts by connecting with a genetic counselor remotely, billed to insurance if you are in-network or covered by Probably Genetic if you are out of network. You are not required to pursue insurance-billed testing if it is not right for you and your family.
